Blast From the Past: Mamata Kulkarni poses nude on Stardust cover

It was more than 13 years back. But when one thinks about it, one can still recollect the uproar that this particular Stardust cover had created throughout the country.

The issue was September 1993, with Mamta Kulkarni on the cover, wearing only a pair of jeans (that too with the zipper wide open!!) and using only her arms to cover her twin assets. Almost like a chemistry experiment, its reaction was immediate and explosive. Practically all quarters of the country registered protests for the ‘vulgarity’ that was pervading Bollywood.

She was labelled as many rather unmentionable names. But with a slight wink and a nudge, we might like to remind everyone that the issue was a complete sell-out within a matter of hours!!!
